If you are creating an online course with a lot of videos, you can use AI generated transcripts to make it more findable.

The simplest way to do this is to create an easy-to-skim transcript on a chapter-by-chapter basis, like this chapter from my Dialogflow CX course.

This will help your prospective students skim your lesson transcripts to see if the topic they are interested in is covered in your course material.

However, it can be very time consuming to do this manually.

The AudioJots Toolkit for Online courses is a combination of training material and Python scripts which provides you with a system which can help you manage this entire workflow using Airtable.

For example here is the Airtable table for the Learn Dialogflow CX course:

Once you add these transcripts for each video lesson in your online course, you can use a search plugin like AJAX Search Pro or an online search service like Algolia to search your website. So people can find the content inside your courses more easily once they are on your website.

What about search engines?

Can transcripts make your course easier to find on Google and Bing?

I think it depends on the course material, but if you have a lot of long tail niche keywords in your video lessons (which you probably do anyway), then all those keywords are likely to show up on long tail searches.

On the other hand, I doubt if this strategy will help you get search traffic for the more popular keywords as these transcript pages are unlikely to attract inbound links.
